This 300 year-old former manse is a popular, friendly village inn near Loch Ness, catering for locals and visitors. The 400 year-old sweet chestnut outside was once a hanging tree. Four hand pumps dispense ales from the Hanging Tree Brewery in a bothy in the garden, with others in rotation from Scottish and UK breweries. Good whisky selection. Very good, simple home-made classic food using locally-sourced produce. Breakfast served to 10am. Pool table and darts board. Dogs are allowed in the bar only. Entertainment includes live music once a fortnight and occasional quiz nights. Home of the famous Loch Ness Beer Festival in September.
