Turning up the brae from the harbour, the striking black and white painted stonework states its presence like a lighthouse! The Caledonian Hotel does not have any hand pumps on the bar, but does offer bottled beers, albeit from their fridge units. With Ullapool being on the North Coast 500 route, this is a popular one night stop off en route and offers a very keen rate. If staying, you may be bewildered by the foreign tongues surrounding you at breakfast as this is also popular with coach tours from all over Europe, including Englandshire! The Caledonian Hotel is closed from late October / early November to late February / early March every year, if you intend to visit around those change - overs, please phone ahead to avoid disappointment
