Turning up the brae from the harbour, the striking black and white painted stonework states its presence like a lighthouse! The Caledonian Hotel does not have any handpumps on the bar, but does offer Wooha bottled beers, albeit from their fridge units. Please be assured that Wooha bottled beers are "Real Ale in a Bottle" (RAIB) and as such "count" as real ale. With Ullapool being on the North Coast 500 route, this is a popular "one night" stop off en route and offers a very "keen" rate. If staying, you may be bewildered by the foreign tongues surrounding you at breakfast as this is also popular with coach tours from all over Europe, including Englandshire! The Caledonian Hotel is closed from late October / early November to late February / early March every year, if you intend to visit around those change - overs, please phone ahead to avoid disappointment
