The Belladrum Tartan Heart has been an annual "ticket only" event since 2004 and is a 3 day family friendly music festival in the Highlands of Scotland. This year the theme is "Bollywood" and takes place between Thursday 2 to Saturday 4 August 2018. On site are numerous bars however for real ale, there are only two:- The "Burke and Hare Steam Punk Pub" is in the WALLED GARDEN at the South West corner of the event. The intimate venue also has two stages with music and drama all day and is open from 4pm -1am Thursday, 11am - 1:30am Friday, and 11am -1am on Saturday and was previously run with CAMRA assistance, but Highlands and Western Isles CAMRA are no longer formally involved, nor endorse the event. Note the 10 hand pumps is an indication that here will be a selection of Real Ale available. A second "Black Isle Brewery" bar nearer the main stage bar offers a mix of cask and keg Black Isle beers. Drinks by "voucher" (£4.50 each) available on site. Unfortunately only plastic glasses - no glass allowed at the event. 17,000 are expected to attend the festival and gates open on Thursday afternoon at 13:00 for the first of the arrivals all looking forward to the 100 or so acts over several stages. Ssee website for more details as to who is headlining this year. Free camping in several areas:- general (noisy?), quiet, family and disabled. A charge is made for caravan / camper van pitches and an additional charge for hook-ups. If you do not want to pitch a tent, then tipis, yurts, squirts and bell tents are also available. A special bus service operated by Stagecoach runs between Inverness and Belladrum during the day, and Belladrum to Inverness after 23:00, and on the Sunday. Ross's minibuses is also offering a services to Bella from Drumnadrochit, Beauly, Muir of Ord and Dingwall. Beauly railway station is 5km away but you are encouraged to take the local bus from there because the roads are likely to be busy and dangerous for pedestrians. Full details about tickets, the acts, camping and getting to Belladrum can be found at the festival website. Please note that this is a ticket only admission event and not a "pub" or club as such. This listing as a pub is so that beer scores can be added.
