See more about this pub on WhatPub, CAMRA's national pub guide.

The Sango Sands Oasis site offers pitches for Tents, Caravans, Tourers and Self Catering in static caravans close to the award winning Sango Sands beach with magnificent views over the bay and surrounding coastline. For charges and details, please see the website.

Although the site remains open all year, real ale is only available during the busy season.

Locally, there is the "last great wilderness of Europe" right on your doorstep to explore. Days out to Cape Wrath 10 miles away via passenger ferry (2 miles), Tongue or just walking on the many unspoilt golden sanded beaches locally make the journey all worth while.

The restaurant has seating for about 60 people and there is a children's menu. There is a separate bar through from the lounge, but you are equally welcome to sit in the lounge with a pint of cask Orkney ale, Dark Island.

The pub is used by locals throughout the year and the seasonal visitors. Currently, no real ale from mid- October to March. Open all year, but for the 2 months after Xmas / New Year open weekends only for seasonal maintenance. If you go there because of this listing, tell James Keith, the owner, and tell him WhatPub sent you!

[Update 18 July 2023: As of July 2023, the pub only opens from 4pm each day. The restaurant has closed, now for sale (according to the campsite's website), so unlikely to reopen soon. The cafe is apparently open, but just for takeaway items (pizzas, pies, etc) which can be eaten within the pub.]
