The "Storehouse" is a part of the UK wide Natural Retreats operation at John O'Groats and carries a wide selection of bottled beers from Windswept and Black Isle breweries. The Storehouse is actually a cafeteria style restaurant (not able to serve alcohol until 10:00) but you can buy a (bottled) beer without a meal.

There is a wood fired stove for the colder days, and benches outside when it is warmer. Also on the site are award winning apartments and lodges.

The area outside is the beginning / end point for most "End to End" journeys on foot (2-3 months, 1200 miles), bicycle (9-14 days, 1000 miles), car (14 hours 14 mins, 838 miles), and in fact all forms of transport. Although not landing at either end, a McDonnell F-4K Phantom Jet did the journey in 46 mins 44 secs in 1988!
