One of 19 pubs and hotels around the Cromarty Firth under state control until 1971, The Royal Hotel has a Scottish country house atmosphere with open fires and good local fresh Scottish cooking and is personally run by the new owner, Jenny Henderson. The hotel overlooks the harbour and enjoys stunning views of the Cromarty Firth and the Sutherland mountains. Relax and watch the fishing boats unload at the pier or the yachts at anchor in the bay. Local food including beef from their own family farm at Udale, just five miles away. Locally caught fish and seafood feature strongly, including fresh lobster, herring and prawns (when available). Join the Beer Club for £20 and get 25p off a pint. You can take the 4 car Ferry to Nigg which is also run by the same family.
