This is a wonderful hotel, which also happens to have real ale. The bar has two handpumps, offering beer from both Cairngorm and Two Thirsty Men. Muckrach Lodge was built as a shooting lodge for the Seafield Estate in 1860 and became an hotel in the early 1960s. A delightful, warm, friendly and relaxed country house highland hotel in the heart of the Spey Valley. The walls are adorned with the heads of deer, with longcase clocks in nearly every room. [Update 12 Sept 2024: "Just to let you know as a Grantown resident that Muckrach Lodge closed down some time ago & is now a private holiday rental."]
