The Sligachan Hotel and Seumas' Bar enjoys a splendid setting between the Black Cuillin and the sparkling waters of Loch Sligachan. Ideally located for touring Skye or as a stop-off en-route to the Western Isles, the cosy hotel and bar have served mountaineers, walkers and lovers of the wild Highland scenery for nearly 180 years, and has been in the same family for the last century. The hotel bars - MacKenzies Bar and Collie's Lounge (named after two pioneers of Cuillin climbing) are open from March until early January. The larger Seumas' Bar (named after a special family dog that used to frequent the premises) is normally open from April until September, having undergone a major refurbishment in 2017. In addition to the two hand pumps [Update 3 May 2024: one hand pump serving Isle of Skye Black, the other promising something 'coming soon', reportedly one of the Orkneys], a range of lagers and bottled beers are available. Seumas' Bar stocks over 450 Scottish single malt whiskies - a must see! The on-site Cuillin micro-brewery seems to have suspended operations, and is reportedly considering relocating. Opening times vary seasonally - refer to Facebook or get in touch.
